England's Jack Butland To Join Scottish Champions
Butland Set to Make Permanent Move to Rangers After Loan Spell at Manchester United
English goalkeeper Jack Butland is set to make a permanent move to Scottish Premiership champions Rangers at the conclusion of his loan spell at Manchester United.
The move, which will see Butland join Rangers on a free transfer, comes after the 29-year-old impressed during his time at Old Trafford.
Butland joined United on loan from Crystal Palace in the second half of the 2022/23 season, providing cover for the injured David de Gea.
The former England international made eight appearances for United, keeping four clean sheets and conceding just four goals.
Butland's performances have convinced Rangers manager Michael Beale to make a move for the goalkeeper, and he is expected to challenge Allan McGregor for the number one spot at Ibrox.
The move to Rangers will mark a new chapter in Butland's career, who has previously played for Birmingham City, Stoke City, and Crystal Palace.
Butland's arrival at Rangers is expected to be confirmed in the coming days, and he will become the club's second signing of the January transfer window, following the arrival of Todd Cantwell from Norwich City.
