After A Premature Birth Glory Johnsons Twin Daughters Are Home And Doing Well

WNBA star Glory Johnson's newborn twins make their debut

After a premature birth, Glory Johnson's twin daughters are home and doing well.

The WNBA star welcomed Ava Simone and Solei Diem in October, 16 weeks premature.

On Thursday, Johnson took to Instagram to share an adorable photo of her newborn twins' tiny feet. The babies, who were conceived by IVF treatment using Johnson's eggs and a sperm donation, were born at 24 weeks gestation. Johnson said she was "overwhelmed with joy" to finally have her daughters home after a long and difficult journey.

"They are such fighters," Johnson wrote on Instagram. "They have been through so much in their short lives, but they are strong and resilient. I am so proud of them."

Johnson's twins were born just days after she and her wife, Brittney Griner, announced they were expecting their first child together. The couple married in May 2015, but they separated in June 2016 after Griner was arrested for domestic violence. Griner was later convicted and sentenced to eight months in prison.

Despite the challenges they have faced, Johnson says she is grateful for the love and support of her family and friends. She is also grateful for the medical team who helped her daughters survive.

"I am so blessed to have these beautiful girls in my life," Johnson said. "They are my everything."
