Chicago Hit by Second Wave of Tornadoes

Tornadoes, Winds, and Hazards Strike Again

For the second consecutive night, the Chicago area has been rocked by tornadoes, dangerous straight-line winds, and other hazardous weather. Monday's storms brought at least five tornadoes to the region, including an EF-1 tornado that touched down on the city's Near West Side.

Multiple Tornadoes Simultaneously on the Ground

According to the National Weather Service, a tornado also touched down near Sugar Grove, Illinois, approximately 40 miles west of Chicago. At one point during the evening, three tornadoes were simultaneously on the ground in the southwestern Chicago metro area. Two of these tornadoes were sighted by radar.
